First, double-click the computer's connection icons or go to Start>Control Panel>Network and Dial up Connections>LAN or High Speed Internet. Double-click on Local Area Connection. Go to Support Tab and click on Repair. This should repair your connection and enable you to connect to the internet. If this does not work, then with your Internet Explorer browser open, click Tools>Internet Options and delete all cookies (all browsing histories). Now try to connect again. If this still does not work, then read- If you are on a network, you may check to see and correct the DNS numbers if need be. Check Internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties and make sure to follow your network's recommendation for DNS settings - DHCP or manual settings. If this does not work, then do this-restart your router and switch as the devices may occasionally have a poorly performing port. If you are using a modem or Terminal Adapter (cable companies), restart them. If this still does not work, call your ISP. and also when yours internet connected then download the best browser Mozilla Firefox from http://mozilla.org/

So I assume you are trying to hook up to a new broadband service and you got a router and software and Ethernet cable and all. If you followed all the installation instructions then I'd unplug the router and let it sit for a few minutes. Like the other poster said, disable your firewall and virus protection. Then start the installation process again, including plugging in the router/gateway. If that doesn't work, then call the broadband service and have them help you. If that doesn't work, then call your Internet service provider if you want to use something other than the broadband provider. It took me a long time to get mine working properly and then it was a whole other nightmare when I tried to get wireless going. Oh, you may have to reset your router/gateway by pushing the end of a paper clip or some other kind of pointy thing in that little tiny hole. Oh, make sure you reboot your computer.

DNS is the process by which your computer converts a web address to an IP address. Enter the IP address of www.google.co.uk, which is 209.85.135.103 , into the address window of your browser and press enter. If the Google web site loads then your problem is that your computer cannot convert the former to the latter.

The solution will depend on the version of Windows you are using and how your computer is connected to the Internet. You need to post these details before you can get accurate help.

First off empty your temp files, go to IE, find tools and empty all of the temp files.
How do you "Get in", dial up, ADSL, or wot. if its ADSL then maybe your modem is corrupted, unplug, let it rest for 10 sec and then reboot it.
Come back if you have not cleared it.

Check your fire wall settings.
Temporary disable your Firewall and see if that clears the problem.
