How about:

When You're Good To Mama - Chicago
Roxie - Chicago
Spanish Rose - Bye Bye Birdie
The Gentleman Is A Dope - Allegro
You Can't Get A Man With A Gun - Annie Get Your Gun

You can start there, but your teacher should be able to make more suitable suggestions.

Good luck!

You're lucky to have an alto voice! Alto doesn't mean the range you can sing (though it can affect it) but refers to the rich tone of your voice in certain parts of your range. You can work to hit high C's and get them eventually - but if you're lucky enough to be one of these rare alto voices you'll be able play all those feisty, strong, and funny characters that composers seem to love for this voice type! (I'm a soprano - most women naturally are, though I can sing 'alto' notes - i used to be stuck with simpering good girl roles!) Have a listen to the soundtrack of City of Angels and Jekyll and you'll hear what beautiful broadway sounds can be created for alto voices.

Gimme, Gimme-Thoroughly Modern Millie.....So in Love-Kiss me Kate.....Back to Before-Ragtime.....On My Own-Les Miserable.....Bewitched, bothered and bewildered-Pal Joey.....All that Jazz-Chicago.....When your good to mama-Chicago.....Don't cry for me Argentina-Evita.....I am changing-Dreamgirls.....Memory-Cats....Send in the clowns- A little night music.....Every thing's coming up roses-Gypsy.....Don't rain on my parade-Funny girl..... For an alto , you have a great deal of choices. Altos luck out on Broadway because most of the showstopping song are in that range. Best wishes......
