I used to love doing that when I was younger. I loved watching them light up in the dark. Then I would let them go...eventually.

Yes, not that long ago, when I went to visit a friend in Michigan. I had never seen a firefly before. After looking at them in the jar totally amazed for awhile I let them go. I thought they were special! and should not be kept in a jar!

Yes. I can see some outside right now, actually. I caught one the other day and put it in a jar but it decided not to light up any more so I let it go.

Yes! My sister and I, we used to run in the yard and down the dirt road in front of my parent's old house, trying to catch these little fellas'. I remember lauging so hard until my stomach would hurt when we would dive after one, land face first in the sand, think we have it caught, and open our hands to only find our palm. Good times!

Yeah one of my happy memories as a kid! It is so cool how their butts light up green and some yellow! And when they were alot of them in the jar they sort of went on and off like Chistmas tree lights do!

yes, but I let them go right away. They only have a life span of 24 hours, I believe, so I wouldn't want to waste it's life in a jar.
