Do you need a dressmaker or a designer? How big is the project? What are your guidelines in terms of cost?

The designers will charge your company a fortune just to design it, and the cost of materials and the actual production is something else. But the fees are justified in the sense that the uniform speaks volumes about the company. For instance, the design alone of the uniforms of the PAL stewardesses is a major decision. Some companies ask internationally known designers to present, and if the designers are invited they all get paid, whether or not the design is selected. The fee for the selected designer is higher.

If the requirement is simple, a dressmaker will do. Usually, you can look at a design catalogue, select and revise a little bit, and then you can discuss with your bosses.
