I haven't seen one well informed answer so I hate to disrupt this intellectual cycle that you are now responsible for.
I try and stay away from questions like this because of the emotion and lack of reason that most exhibit while responding to questions concerning politics, religion and any other mostly opinionated argument.
But there are simple facts that can not be looked past. This factor is experience. He parades around like the second coming but has not done anything. He was a state senator when he voted against the war. He is currently a junior senator and lacks any real world experience.
What business has he been successful at? I would think that business success should be a deciding factor in an election that is witness to an economic downturn.
He has also never said what his plan is for getting out of the middle east. Yes, it is very easy to sit back and say "well, what I would have done". While we all respect the Monday morning quarterback until you have prov en yourself as a capable decision maker please do not enlighten me with your broad casted opinion.

Voting is a personal thing, you should do research on each person running and make the choice you feel is best. You may take in account other people's views of those running for office; however, the vote you log should that of your own choosing. Even if it is not the most popular. This will be the 3rd presidental election I have been old enough to vote in. In the first two for me it was an easy pick for my vote. This time is rather tough.... I'm researching all running, republican, democrat, and independent.... once I've gathered enough information on them that I feel is suitable for me to cast my vote, then I will make my selection no matter what party they are in. At this time I can not say who I am willing to vote for, I can say that I think I know whom I will not be voting for and it is only 2 runners thus far. I hope this helps you when coming to your choice. No matter who you vote for, know that it is just important that you vote. If you don't like any one who is running, you may always do what they call a "write in" on your card. I have heard people writing in themselves or even Donald Duck... lol It's important to vote and even a write in and we all know Donald Duck can't hold office, but it sends a clear message that they felt no one was worthy and even that is a good thing to make known. It's your privilage as an American to have your voice heard.

He has no experience. The democrats don't have a decent group to pick from and neither do the republicans. Where are the role models? Where are the ethical, God fearing people? Where are the foreign policy makers? Where are the decent leaders? I like John McCain and Fred Dalton Thompson because of their experience. I like General Wesley Clark and former Senator John Edwards because they are just good people. If I can't have a General as President then I'll take one as Vice President because we are going to need one but I hate abortion. If Clark and Edwards are for abortion then they don't get my vote.

Are you talking about the Democratic primaries? If you were to vote in the primaries, then I would suggest voting against Obama because he's unelectable. The combination of being black and a suspected Muslim (in spite of no evidence to support that claim) make him impossible to elect in the general election. Hillary Clinton is similar because she suffers from being a woman and Bill Clinton's wife. Either of them would lose to pretty much ANY Republican candidate.
Once we move on to the REAL presidential election, then I think Obama is a good choice. I'm an independent, but I respect his honesty and his willingness to say what he would do, instead of using pre-packaged sound bytes his handlers have approved. I would be very likely to vote for him in a general election, in spite of my history of voting independent unless one of the candidates is named Bush. (In which case I've consistently voted against them).

Well, the only thing i can think of is inexperience. Myslef i have yet to see anyone on either party who is worthy of being President. If the Hillarys and Rudys are the best America can find we are in trouble.
on the other hand America needs a serious change and Obama certainly is that.

Big one for me is his statement he would walk a picket line during a union strike as president.
To me, that shows a total misunderstanding of the job he is trying to attain. There are several reasons I say this:
1) It is physically impossible. It would be a security nigh mare for a sitting president to walk a picket line.
2) It is way too detail oriented for the position. We have problems with Iraq, the Economy, Medicare, security against terrorists, immigration, and he is going to spend his time... walking a picket line? It doesn't add up.
3) The president must serve as final arbitrator for union management disagreements in cases of national interest. In the past this has included railroad strikes and miners strikes.. Is his stand to give them anything they want?
It is just flat out a stupid statement, and I would expect better of someone in his position.

well first of all he is a democrat so you know he will be weak when it comes to commanding our armies. second he just doesnt have what it takes - look at his poor speaking skills - and third he wouldnt get enough respect in the heartland and even less abroad because he just doesnt look professional enough and he doesnt have it together enough to be a good president.
also i dont want someone with his faith, the muslim faith, to be leading our christian nation. we are almost all christian so why not have a christian leader even if it isnt a law.
to me - obama reminds me of al sharpton except 2007, this year, not in the 90s when sharpton was the frontrunner in his category

Hillary Clinton is the best choice and she will be the next, The President of The United States. Obama is good but to inexperienced for right now. Give him 8 years and he'll be ready for our next Democrat President.

Rudy Juliani is my choice, but at this stage I think anyone is better than a woman president. Although Hilary is a very intelligent woman, with our complex society and problems I dont think she'll be up to the task.
