From what I've heard and understand, once the car is broken in it will get better mileage and perform better. so the answer to your question is yes. But....as it gets older and oler it'll also get more wear and tear on it and eventually mileage will begin to decrease again. all depends on how well you keep your vehicle maintained. after your car is broke in, i'd switch over to synthetic fluids to help decrease wear. but its all up to you and if you think its worth it and if you have the money

gas mileage gets better and oil consumption gets less as the piston rings seal. About 12,000 miles all of this has already happened.
