This ide cable says it works for hard drives but will it also work with this dvd burner?

BTW: if for some reason you would wanna buy one of those drive DON'T do i there, its a rip off. Instead buy here

Yep ide is ide, doesnt matter if it says its for a hard drive

No such thing as an 80 pin, they are all 40 pins. The very very old ones had only 40 wires, pretty much anything since 1996 has 80 wires. I left this out in other answers when I said all IDEs were created equal, I thought it was irrelevant to mention since it is technology from over 11 years ago, not sold today.

Yes it will, but you would be better buy an 80pin IDE cable, not the standard 40 pin. You get much better performance in DATA transfer

well all the IDEs are same and all af them work with all the DVD writers except the DVD writers that work with USB port.
