Its a 2000 Ford Taurus that I just bought. All the other locks work just not the drivers one. It doesn't lock automatically when I get to 15mph, it doesn't lock or unlock when I hit the power lock buttons and it doesn't work with the button thing on my keychain. Is there anything simple that may cause this?

Before you pull anything apart, check the wiring. The section going from the car body into the door is flexxed every time you open and close the door. That is the most common cause of power lock and window failure. After you check the wiring, you can check the motor/actuator in the door if the problem hasn't been fixed with the wiring. Always start with the simplest of the obvious possible causes.

Just the drivers door lock actulator has failed. Either lock with a key or get the part replaced.

It sounds like the lock motor, You can pull the door panel and remove the motor and have it tested.
Good Luck and GOD Bless

check and see if your battery in the remote is dead and if thats not it then you may try to see if your manual says to do anything more.
