Absolutely necessary organization. Much of its work goes on unnoticed, but it improves the lives of millions around the world. Also, it provides a forum for nations to voice their differences & concerns rather than pulling triggers or worse. Having the world come to the US to meet certainly adds tremendous prestige to our worldwide reputation.

They can't do anything other than "stand around" -- the UN has no enforcement powers, and no legal authority to compel anyone to do anything.
What they do is provide a forum for countries to resolve disputes in a non-military fashion.

They're about as useful as the current Democratic Congress trying to pass non-binding resolutions, sure! Good thing GW doesn't feel like paying the arrears. Personally, I think we should ask the UN to be rotated between other countries, and kick it out of New York. It's sitting on too much valuable real estate, and it's not worth it. Let some other country host this white elephant. Russia, China, want to step up and take it over? LOL.

At one time years ago it served a very useful purpose. But thats been like 30 years ago or so. Overtime its lost its way and no longer stands for what it was created to be.
Some say that the U.N. will have something to do with the coming of the Beast and the Anti Christ. I dont know about all of that............
But you never know.

No. They never have. The UN really needs to go away forever. They have no place in our world.
EDIT: Ya right and they still need to go away.
