It just depends on your pain tolerance. I have 2. One on the back of my neck, and one going across my lower back and up my spine. I was falling asleep in the chair both times. I didn't think they hurt at all. BUT I have a high pain tolerance. So determining how much it will hurt is more based on that. In my opinion.

They do hurt., but when something means that much, its worth it. I have 5 of them, each foot and both wrists and the middle of my back, by far the most painful was the one on my back, it is also the biggest, so thats why. That one is for my father who died and my nephew who died at birth. It was TOTALLY worth it. Pick a good artist, and the best place on your body, they will be able to help you .

Sorry to hear about your little one.

For me, it did not hurt, i have a large star on my foot, (said to be a sensitive area for thinness or skin). It only took about 8 minutes.. really short.

It helped that for me, i wasn't concentrating on the needle or tattoo at all though, i was thinking of my family, (who this is for) and their positive reactions.

I'm sure that your little one will be in your thoughts when you get yours, and you won't feel much pain, especially compared to the pain of losing a child.

Yes, it's going to hurt. I keep hearing the bonier areas hurt, but my ankle tats (I have two) hurt less than the one on my right bicep and the one on my left hip. I find the outlining to be the most agonizing part. But the pain is worth it.

sorry to hear about your daughter but i have two memorial tatts on for my dad and one for my mom yes it hurts but it is a healing and cleansing experience this pain helps that pain go away I would suggest having it done on you back because I know they are there watching over me every step of they way good luck and research you tattoo carefully you don't want to regret the style and find a good tattoo artist and ask for magazine clippings or something to credit their artistic ability good luck !!!

i have 2 tattoos, one on my upper back right on the spine, and the other on my foot. the foot hurt worse, but nothing i cried about, my back didn't hurt at all, just go in and have confidence that you will feel fine, and you will be surprised that you thought the pain would be worse.!!!

PS-- so sorry to hear about your loss
