My friend has no middle name. So on documents & such, they list her as: Andrea n.m.n. Miller (not her real name)

There are plenty of people who lack middle names. However it is strange that they take the time to write NMN because it's not valid by law in any state for a person to have a middle name. That is why so many documents ask for initial rather than full name, because its not necessary.

My grandfather had no middle name.
He was born in 1915 when the started issuing out birth certificates and he had no middle name.

I once worked with a woman whose husband just had an initial, as in John Q Smith. They had four children and just gave them initials too instead of middle names. I thought it was weird.

My mom and her 2 brothers and sister...every time someone in my mom's family gave their kids middle names the baby died so my moms parents and then her brothers (who still had their family last name) never gave their kids middle names...weird

None of my grandparents have middle names. I haven't seen the nmn though...My mom dropped her middle name and uses her maiden name instead.

My father has no middle name. My grandma says she couldn't think one and didn't want to just pick anything so she didn't give him one.
