We have a newer computer and my son has our old one. He has wireless Internet through our computer. My husband unplugs the whole unit from the wall every night because he says it saves on electricity but my son says that disconnecting the modems will burn up the motherboards. My husband says it won't. Who is right?

He unplugs the router or the PC? Either way, a router that's left on won't consume much power. Probably pennies a month. A PC left on over night will use more power, shutting it off is simple enough. There is no need to completely unplug the system though.
