while everyone else had designer names on their butts, I had 2 pair of generic jeans that I wore to school. Everyone had izod on their shirts, not me! I did babysitting jobs to buy my Nikes. Now all that does not seem to matter anymore - the status symbols. But when you are 14, it's your life!

i did i worked in the school lunchroom to buy clothes,and im still poor!

We shopped for shoes at a store called pic-n-pay in, Greensboro, NC. because We could get two pair of shoes there for about fifteen bucks. and, since they didn,t have food stamps, in those days, We got what was called surplus food. Government surplus canned goods such as pork, left over from world war two and, the Korean conflict.

Yes, I had poor and humble beginning growing up. But it is a life experience and made me work even harder to succeed.

We were glad to have fried potatoes and eggs for supper and pb&j for lunch. No complaints here.
