To face your fear, all you have to do is go find the strength to do what whatever you fear. I guess just find the bravery to do. Do it, and maybe it wont be as fearful, or you might be fearless from it.

Honestly the only way that I know is one of two ways. Do it or don't do it.
Let me be more specific.....If you are afraid of going into water for instance. Recognize it as a legitimate fear. Acknowledge it, which is facing your fear. Now you have a decision to make do you want to find out if your fear is founded or not. That is a whole other story. If you really wanted to get over your fear of say getting in water than my suggestion would be read up on what you can about say swimming, the lake, river, whatever, think of the worst case scenario and the best case scenario. Make a decision to do it. Take a supportive friend, and just decide to do it. GET IN! Once you have done that you can than determine is it something you can get over or if it was everything you thought it was and you would never do it again. E. Roosevelt once said, "Do something you are afraid of everyday." I try to live by that motto. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I try to be positive. Keeping in mind that what I'm about to go through will not be forever. So I would analyze the situation to see if I can really deal with it and look for an easy approach.

But you have to face your fears knowing exactly what to expect and preparing for it mentally or sometimes physically.

I try to learn as many facts as I can instead of relying on guesses. Sometimes things are not as bad as they seem when you know the facts. I pray a lot and ask God to help me to be strong and not let things get the best of me.
Sometimes I put myself in a position where I will have to overcome my first instinct to run or hide. Once I am able to do that, it helps me with other things. I am no longer afraid of storms because I have spent the night by myself during a storm. After the first two hours, I slept like a baby.

i don't know exactly "how" i do it...and i don't always...but i know i do to a great degree face my fears...with courage and faith is how i face my fears...
then we get into the issue of the stuff of faith...it is not necessarily a "believing" as such...faith has a bit more substance and power than a mere belief system...but that is another discussion...you asked about facing fears...and the important thing is that we DO it. doesn't matter if we do it kicking and screaming or quietly and serenely, just so we do it.

1. Take a deep breath.

2. Assess the situation:

*Is this really a problem?

*What could REALLY happen to me?

3. Confront the situation

*"Feel out" the situation (more assessment).

4. Beat down the cause of my fear (internal/external stimulus).

5. Retreat

*Reassess the situation.

*Pray.

*Exercise.

6. Beat down the source of my fear, find a way to get someone ELSE to help me out, accept the source of my fear and coexist with it until it goes away by itself.

Wow so weird!! I faced my fear yesterday. my fear was going on roller-coaster and scary rides like that.

I don't know I just said whatever and my cousin convinced me.

My advice is just do it, so next time you wont have to deal with it because you wont be scared. The time is going to pass and isnt going to last forever so get it over with

I repeat this in my head, "Courage = being afraid of something but doing it anyway". Then I remind myself that facing the fear and trudging through it makes me courageous. It always works.

Nice question!

you face fear by mentally coaching yourself, and play scenarios in your head until you establish the root of your fear.

fear is a defence mechanism that our body produce...it is a product of regression which is subconciously stoling away something we do not want to face, thus producing fear.
