my 8 year old daughter has unexplained bruises.odd shapes 3 on her face&3 on her arm.?

she has always been healthy.she is babysat only by my mother who is a gentle lady.

she is not a climber or jumper

i asked her to try to remember she never bumped herself.she is very honest.the only thing she did this week was went swimming.we watched her from the side and she never hurt herself.i gave her vitamins w/iron today.

she is on break from school.

all kids get unexplained bruises, i have a 4 year old boy-really active, he's always getting into everything, i don't think your mom would hurt her

may be anemic- they get bruises all the time- i'm anemic and it happens to me

First of all , observe your child, do she still have the same behavior as before the bruises, if she is acting differently.make a note of her change in behavior, ask her about her bruises casually while you are playing with her if she doesn't tell you what happened make it clear to her that she is not in trouble and that you love her and nothing will change that no matter what, get her to use a doll to reenact how she got the bruises, if she still doesn't tell you where she got them, take her to the doctor he/she might be able to tell you if is from physical violence or not and they'll do tests to rule out diseases that can cause bruising. Also, you can put a hidden camera around the house and in her room to watch if she is doing things to herself that would cause the bruising. If she goes to school ask them if they have any idea where she got the bruises from. After all your her parent and your first priority should be to ensure the safety of your daughter, she can't protect herself, so you have to do it for her. Never rule out anything, abuse can come from anywhere and anyone? and as I said it could be a symptom of a disease as scary as all these possibilities are it is your duty as a parent to ensure her safety. so go ahead and due whats right for your child. hope this helps you.

A blood test will help you to rule out leukemia, lymphoma and other really scary diseases. Once that's out of the way, you can focus on the little stuff like other kids kicking or biting, etc.. time counts. Call your pediatrician. My 7 year old ends up with bruises on her legs and arms but never on her face. Have you asked her? You have to reassure her that she is not in trouble and you only want to help her. If not, maybe an aunt or close friend could talk to her. Female fire fighters/emts always work well in these situations (everyone loved firefighters)

A doctor should be able to examine the bruises and discern whether they were caused by physical violence (possibly by a student at her school, if not anyone you know), or a medical condition. I know that some diseases cause children to be fragile and easily bruised, so you should get this checked out if she won't tell you where the injuries are from.

Mybe while swimming she bumped into the wall or the bottom.When i swim i do that a dont even know i got brusies.still listen to other people and get her blood tested.
