Belly dancing classes are a great way to get a flat tummy and abs. Diets don't really work just try eat in moderation and balance and healthy meals.

Okay, first you need to lose the extra fat. When you lose fat, you lose it everywhere, not just a specific area. So that means that doing hundreds of crunches will not cause you to lose belly fat, but rather fat from every part of your body. Compared to other muscle groups, getting some muscle mass in your abs is quite a bit harder. Losing enough body fat will usually be good enough. So to do that, you need a healthy meal plan. Complex carbs, protein and healthy fats. 5 small meals a day. I would go about 0.8-1.5g of protein per pound of lean mass(not fat).

If you still want to try and gain a little muscle mass, try this:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
Medium Intensity.
3x10 crunches.

By medium intensity, I mean that it should be a bit harder than an easy workout, but not a workout where it is excessively hard and tiring.

I do 100 crunches a day, but rollerblading is good, too. You should try biking, as it helps more than your abs.

I don't think diets are necessary, just eat only when you're hungry.

Stay away from breads and pastas. Carbs turn into sugar, and sugar turns into fat. Eat lots of meat and lots and lots of protein. Best Wishes!!
