I see we're now doing your homework. Ok, I won't answer everything, but here are reasons why US companies export.

Increases the size of the market. US market has 300 million people. Europe has at least that many. China has 1.3 billion (4 times the size).

The market in the US might be slowing down. A good example is the tobacco industry. The percent of smokers in the US had dropped by half in 40 years. In China and other parts of Asia, it's a growing business.
