I am starting college at my community college soon and I am signing up for classes. How far apart should I schedule my classes? Should I give myself a 15 minute break or 30 minute break in between classes? I would love any advice.

I always did mine back-to-back, and by lunch I was done for the day.

To each their own though.

If you have a HUGE campus, you'll want to leave more like 30 minutes between classes. If it's smaller, you'll want to leave less, more like 5-10.

I don't know if your college is like most, but at most places I've gone classes are offered at set times, and your choice is to schedule classes 10 or 15 minutes apart (to give you time to move from one class to the other) or wait another hour or hour and a half until the next class period. Most community colleges are relatively small, so you don't need a lot of time to get from one class to the other, but I wouldn't schedule 5 classes in a row with only 10 minutes in between each, or you will be confused and hungry.

There are a lot of things to consider:
-how far apart (physically) are your classes? If it is a long walk from one building to another you may want a longer break in between just for the sake of having to walk further.
-if one class ends, for example, at 11:30 do I really want another class starting at 11:45 or do I want a longer time in between to fit in a lunch break?
-how many classes can I handle in a given day and do the classes meet once or twice per week (or more).
-do I prefer classes that are early in the morning or later in the day?? I used to hate those 8am classes myself but some people are true early birds and can function better in the morning.
-will I need to run to my car to get anything in between?
-how is the traffic (and parking situation as well) getting to campus right before my first class?

Either way, the best way to see your options is to write it out on scrap paper. Print out one of those schedules with the 15 minute increments (they are available online or in software such as Microsoft Outlook). Write in all your classes first (preferably in pencil so you can easily erase and make changes if need be) and in between your classes, you can figure in your time needed to do other things.

Hmmm. It depends on the size of the campus and how fast you want to run. I went to a small school, 15-20 min. is good. If you plan on homework between classes go longer. Nothing worse than realizing the last minute that you didn't finish your homework and class is in 10 min. It's all in how you opperate. If you procrastinate you'll need more time.

the less time the better. If you have too much time between classes, you will be more tempted to ditch. Give yourself 15 min to get to the next class so you get a front row seat.
