I know someone who does it and I'm wondering if I should be worried?

Are they surface bruises? If the injuries are deep, there could be a risk of injury.

But, the BIG CONCERN is the the EMOTIONAL heath of the bruiser. This person is in emotional danger! The amount of self-hatred and/or attention-seeking is very alarming! Professional help must be saught before this behavional and the feelings behind it become more dangerous and habitual.

That person has definitely lost respect for himself. He needs help asap.

yes you should. i don't think bruising urself hurts, but she may start other things that can hurt her. any form of self injury shoud be stopped. if u r her friend u will help her stop.

i'd be worried. they're purposely hurting themselves. you may want to try and find out what's bothering them

Tell her parents she is seeking attention..... she could take it further and do real harm.
