Whether you like it or not, he's going to break the record. I wouldn't say that I'm rooting for him but I'm definitely going to watch history be made when it happens. The greatest record in sports may not be broken again while I'm alive, so I've decided to enjoy it while I can.

Root for Barry...c'mon, why not?
In the grand scheme of things, this is just entertainment. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun.
When you go to the fair or the carnival, you know the games have an unfair advantage, but you play anyway...to have fun.
When you come to Las Vegas, you understand that you'll probably leave with more money than you came into town with, but you come anyway...to have fun
We pay money all sorts of different ways, and all in the name of entertainment, so why should baseball or sports in general be any different?
All I ask from baseball is that nine players from two different teams play a game once in a while and in return, they get some money from me.
I choose to spend my money on Giants hats and t-shirts, because they are the ones that I grew up with and entertain me the most. I wont lie, I've bought my share of Yankee hats or apparel from another team just because it looked good, but I'll always be a Giants fan and a fan of baseball.
You pay your money to baseball too, so go ahead and boo Bonds when he's up to bat and make signs about how your team is the best...but c'mon some of these people are letting it take control of their lives and they're carrying around this hatred with them, but for what?
It's just baseball folks, it's a game. Next month, next year, next millenium, it'll still just be a game. I dont lose any sleep whether or not my favorite team wins the championship, because regardless of how good or bad they are, the next time I'm there to give them my time or money, they'll be there to entertain me.

I'm totally rooting for the HR record to get passed up. How often does this happen in baseball history?
Anyways, the people that insult Barry will be disappointed because the issue is not how much of the steroids or HGH he took, but rather the degree of perjury and how much salary he avoided reporting to the IRS.
He is actually not truly busted at this moment, but when the subpoena and indictments are served, then we'll see how good his defense team is..... The service of papers has been delayed for how long because it should have been around the time the All Star Game occurred.....

This might sound biased in some sort of way, because I'm a Giants fan, but trust me when I say, it's not. Barry Bonds was knocking homers out and stealing tons of bases as a scrawny guy in Pittsburgh, so just because people think he "took steroids" shouldn't take too much away from him. To quote Skip Baylis, "With or without steroids, Barry Bonds is still probably the best power hitter of all-time.".
I don't know about being the best of all-time, but I can say that I'm routing for him and I'll explain why. He has put up with alot of things since the rumor started and despite some of his outbursts, I think he's handled it the best way he could, whether he knows it's true, or he knows it's not true. You put that kind of pressure on any other player in MLB and they're gonna act the same way he did. So, the whole thing about everyone thinks Barry is a moron because of the way he acts is out the window for me. You stand in his shoes for one day and try not to get annoyed.
'Bonds on Bonds' showed what kind of family man he is and what kind of composure he truely has. He seems to be a pretty stand-up guy, not much different then myself or anyone that is reading this.
There's no doubt in my mind as well as alot of other people's minds, that he's going to break the record. It's almost a given at this point, as close to a guarantee that you can get. And until he fails a substance test and gets busted for the steroids being in his system, I'll be behind, and stick up for him the entire way.
If he does get busted for them and they do find them in his system, I still think he's one of the best of all-time, but it's gonna take a failed test to turn me away from him.

Bleep NO...How about ESPN stop glorifying the jerk, Selig growing a set and renounce the Cheat(s), and the MLB fans that are too stupid(naive) to see the truth..and further more lifetime BAN on anybody found using or has used Steriods...Includes all records wiped clean, awards given to the runner-ups...and if Bonds makes it into the Hall then Pete Rose should be let in....after all a cheat is a cheat...right

Yeah I am, this is coming from a Mariners fan, so it's pretty neutral. It's think it's amazing that I have the honor to see such a record like this be broken. When my kids are watching A-Rod casing down the record, I can tell them about a great ball player I used to watch, Barry Bonds

I am but not tonight.
GO BRAVES!
After tonight GO BARRY!
I think all of you are full of it. I'm only in this for entertainment purposes. What about those special sunglasses or contacts, and surgeries to improve eye sight to better than 20/20? I remember the day when people just wore glasses when they were at bat. What about those awesome shoes and enhanced bat technologies? What about all of these "legal" supplements that guys didn't have back in the day. People are entitled to their opinions but I guess only some of us live in the real world while the rest are in fantasy land.

I like him. What if he isn't busted though? What if he breaks the record? What if he did something called 'Impossible' like hit an inside the park home run? Anything can happen in baseball. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but people should stop picking on him. They're calling him a cheater. Stop picking on him people. Just sayin'.
