I have two Cham's and both of them hiss and try to act tough. All Chameleons do this, Usually they don't bite, they just try to scare you, as they would to scare a preditor away. I don't think it would ever bite you, but if it does chances are it won't hurt too bad depending on the size. Which in your case, it shouldn't hurt. Hope I helped!!!!

Chams are very warey animals, and if they feel threatened in any way, even if you are not intentionaly annoying it it will defend itself. Their bite, well you will certainly feel it, but in comparison to a hamster bite it won't be as bad, more brusing than penetration and bleeding, their teeth aren't all that big, but they have some force in those little jaws.
My advise, if it starts hissing, then leave it be, not only do you not want to get bitten but you don't want to stress it out, as this can be a big problem for your chams health, and it is not unheard of for a cham to die from stress.

well, your cham is getting older, bigger and less shy of you... it is no longer a defenceless baby! If you annoy her, and dont stop when she hisses, she will bite hard. I am sure it will happen sooner or later whether you want it or not! It is their nature An adult one can bite very painfully when they want to, sure thing!
So you should try to be nice to your pet, so that you dont turn her into a mean, agressive animal. Move always slowly in her cage, when you have to put your hand near the animal, put you hand under it, not above it. Dont tease it, scare it- you can slowly, gently, train the cham to walk up on your hand, to be gently slowly picked up without freaking out - always from under, never from above. Train it to eat from your hand. This way you get a friendly cham that doesnt freak out and bite whenever you need to put your hand in the terrarium

Hi, I had a male iguana for abotu two years before he want really violent and we had to rehouse him. They have rows of razor sharp teeth, it did hurt but that was beause of the inital snap, the teeth themselves don't do much damage it was no worse than brambles. My bearded dragon does the same it is pretty much the same feeling. One tip, don't place a flat hand into the tank, it gives them the opportunity to get the side of your hand, or the ends of your fingers. This really hurts as they can get a hold. When you go into the tank make a fist. This means that your hand has a bigger surface area and they can't get a grip on it to bite. I used this technique for both of my lizards and have beaten them down (over a couple of months). It has worked and now my little dragon is quite sociable. We have two boas one 14ft and the other 10ft a breeding pair, my husnabd taught me this technique as he also uses it with the snakes, again he gets bitten but they make less mess of his hand doing it this way. I suppose it goes for most animals even dogs, they can snap through fingers but your fist is a bigger and stronger object.
I hope it helps, I would like to say no, it doesn't hurt but yes it does, it is going too as they pierce your skin with teeth. It you put your hands in brambles or neetles they hurt, it is down to your pain threshold as to how much.
Good luck, you will beat her soon

Well, animals can sense your fear. If you are flinching and nervous, so is the animal (and they understand the threat is working). If you think you cannot grit your teeth and pick the animal up, wear a handling glove and pick her up instead, then let her bite you as much as she wants. When she realises that biting doesn't work, she should stop.
just donot make her uncomfortable - if she protests a lot then really don't pick her up. Time and patience.
