My laundry room floor is wet but there is no obvious leaks. I have checked the floor around my hot water heater and I have also checked the connection on the washing machine. The water is not noticible until you walk on the laundry room floor and then it seeps from underneath . I have also checked under the house and there is no signs of a leak there either.

The likely hood is that the leak is not obvious because it may only be there when the washing machine is running. Try wiping up very well and then check for water without running the machine for a while. If you have no leaks, run the machine. Now if you have leaks, unless you are very handy or have someone who is (like my lucky wife, heh heh) call an appliance repairman.

There is obviously a leak from a pipe that could be coming from anywhere in hour home.
This means that it could be on the other end of your house, down the inside of your walls and running towards your laundry room.

I once had a leaky roof. The leak came from another part of the roof and settled down in the best place to land.

You may need a good word of mouth contracting handyman that is bonded or an expensive plumber or an expensive inspector or a very good low cost workman that isn't bonded and that could rip you off and tear up your house looking for the leak and it's source.

Good Luck my friend.

I think Len may be right. I would suspect that your washing machine may be the culprit. Do you notice this leak after you do laundry?

The second possibility could be water coming up through a floor drain.

If you have your water lines under the foundation then you could have a leak somewhere in those lines. Then get your check book out. If they run in your attic then check your appliances.

If your floor is a cement base then it could be because of high humidity in your laundry room. A dehumidifier should solve your problem. Good luck.

Could it be condensation from the heat of the dryer? If you don't have it ventilated that could be the problem.
