I second the plant idea... that way it doesn't need the heater, the filter, or the bubbler. Also, it would take longer for you to kill the plant, fish in a bowl will only last a couple months. The plant should last at least 5 months...

please get a bigger tank. a fishbowl is not big enough for any fish, not matter how small. even a minnow would feel crowded in a fishbowl. please buy a generously sized 5 gallon tank for it. it is less stressful for the fish. can i tell u a little story?
i had a beta. it was a dull peach color. it lived in a 1 galllon fish bowl. i then moved him to a 5 gallon tank. over a course of about 1 week, he became RED! PEACH to RED!

he was obviously happier! so please put him in at LEAST a 5 gallon tank

just 4 the sake of the fishie!!

You can't put ANYTHING in a bowl, INCLUDING bettas and frogs! ALL aquatic life needs a heated, lighted, filtered tank (except goldfish which don't need the heat, but need the rest). NOTHING is happy in a bowl. It would be like you living in a closet. It's cruel and horrible! Get a real tank or don't get a fish.

Really nothing is happy in a bowl. It can be a temp home for a beta and a bubbler is great but really to sutain lfe you need a filter. As for anyone who tells you goldfish this is a LIE and you'll have a dead goldfish in a week.

I've got an idea! Fill it with dirt, and put a plant in it. That way, you've got something to watch grow, and all the crybaby animal lovers will be happy too.

I don't think you can safely add any more creatures to such a small container. you would have to increase the tank size in order to add more.

goldfish beacause they are hardy, not many other fish will survive long in just a fish bowl
