An electric car is designed to run off a bank of 12.0 V batteries with a total energy storage of 2.00 x 10^7 J.
-->If the electric motor draws 8.00 kW, what is the current delivered to the motor? in A
--> If the electric motor draws 8.00 kW as the car moves at a steady speed of 20.0 m/s, how far will the car travel before it is "out of juice"? in km

Part 1. Power = voltage * current so

8 kW = 12 *I --> I = 8,000/12 =666.67 A

Part b. Power = energy/time. Energy E= 20 MJ

Distance = speed * time d = vt so t =d/v

Then P = E/(d/v) = Ev/d solve for d

d= vE/P = 20*20e6/8e3 = 50e3 = 50,000 meters
