Rock bottom sucks, been there myself. (I'm talking homeless, pregnant, living in my car, and then my car was stolen) You just have to admit to yourself that your way of living isn't working. Get a job, and save that money! Don't go smoking or drinking it away. Make goals, and stick to them. Have someone who is honest with you be your accountability partner. Tell them you want to do a b c d and you want to avoid x y z and be honest when you check in with them. Pay your folks some rent as soon as money starts coming in. It sucks, but no going out with friends for a while unless its for a coffee or a walk. Think free local events for entertainment. Finally, sow some kind seeds. Karma is everywhere. Do you have time to volunteer somewhere? Think the best of everyone, and when you see something good, don't be afraid to identify it. Complimenting people makes you and the receiver both feel good. Now for the physical things that affect emotion: hydrate: sounds silly, but drink lots of water fresh foods: eating clean can give you a new perspective. Eating sugar has been shown to cause extreme mood swings. (Obviously each person is affected differently) Walk it out! : any exercise whether it be weights, cardio, walks, jogging, walking a dog, scrubbing floors. Get up and move. It will stimulate your brain to release serotonin (good vibes) to your body Make a list of what you do have that we in America take for granted. It will really open your eyes! I.e clean running water, hot showers, food in stores for us to buy and the means to do so. Washing machines instead of a third world country's stream an rocks to scrub with. Heat for winter and air conditioning for summer. Write a list and hang it up. Start meditating on what you have & how to get the rest. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! Keep doing the right thing, and you'll move up. Do you believe in God? If so, find a church you like where people will lift you up and keep you motivated to succeed. We live in an amazing country where we have the opportunity to change our paths if we merely change our outlooks. Attitude is everything, don't give up!! Good luck man!

Are you rocking in your free time? I try to rock as much as possible. Nothing like a chunky guitar riff to keep me rocking long after I get off a boat.
