The only problem with it is that he'll probably be correcting people his whole life who will think he said Wayne.

It makes me think, Southern Boy. I never met anyone with that name until I moved down South. It's doesn't sound particularly old fashioned to me. I'd personally prefer something more traditional like William but considering some of the God awful names people give their kids these days, Wade is pretty decent. At least it's a real name and doesn't have a goofy spelling. I've known kids with names like Star, Ace, Chantz, Zakary, Kortnee, Ciara (which is a cheap perfume) and every time I hear those names I cringe and think how screwed these kids are.

I think of a duck, actually. Don't know why. Wait, I think that was the name of the timid duck on that cartoon show "Garfield and Friends". You know, the duck that always had a lifesaver ring around his waist because he was afraid to drown even though he's a duck? Wade was his name because he really couldn't swim, only wade in the water.

i'm sorry, but i grew up with a few boys named wade, and they were very dorky. they were picked on a lot, so i don't really see that as a strong name. i do think it sounds a little old fashioned, but if that's what you like, go for it. i hope that name is better for you than it is for me.

I don't like "Wade". It makes me think of the duck that was scared of everything on Garfield and Friends.
