what do you think about the damsel in destress...?

what do you think about the damsel in destress, knight in shinning armour coming to resuce you bit?(whether it b the traditional fairy tale, or modern redone version) romantic?annoying?...lol. just wanted some opinions. thanks everyone ^_^

i understand that we all need help sometime, but the damsel in distress bit is ridiculous! women can take care of themeselves and its dumb for her to just stand there and wait for the guy to come in and save her, when she can learn to kick butt just as good as the next guy.
