How deep are you pockets?

They would have to be pretty deep for redwood.

Treated pine should be fine.

Check out the new resin coated wood that is available. Relatives just did a deck with it, looks sharp and there is not maintenance. That makes it worth the extra money.

You might want to think about composite decking.
It looks good, lasts a long time and there is little maintainence. There is a good website that you might want to look at, they have all types of composite decking, fences, railings, etc.

the resin is nice looking, but I would go with pressure treated pine , it is within a budget

treated pine looks great... thats what we have,,,just have re stain every few years.
