Knowing that evolution is a weak, flimsy, THEORY (its not a fact, its a theory, people), what do you think about CREATIONISM?

Watch this and see if you can refute it:

I notice how difficult it is for the evolutionists here to respond to the video clips. By the way, evolution IS built on faith- or were you actually there 'millions and millions' of years ago? Hmmm?

Lets see, I've had about 18 years of evolution crammed down my throat and many of you can not stand to watch more than 15 minutes of this video on creationism. Gee, who's ill- informed in this situation?

What makes you think that creationism is the right way of thought??? I cannot refute the fact that there are people who can give some type of evidence that supports it, but the fact is how much evidence is there to support this theory. If creation had as much supporting evidence as evolution it certainly would be taught in public school, but it does not therefore we are taught evolution.

Nothing in science denies the existence of a Creator who designed us and watches over us today.

It simply says that, if they exist, they started the process with a Bang 13 billion years ago and used evolution as a tool.

Science doesn't conflict with most people's religious beliefs. Even those who follow the exact words in the Bible have said that a "day" doesn't have to be 24 hours.

(I can't believe I'm doing this again...)

Miss L,

The fact that you seem to think that calling evolution "only a theory" is an insult demonstrates that you don't understand what science is or how it is done. A theory is the highest, most revered status that a scientific idea can be elevated to. No one has ever claimed that evolution is a fact, or has been proven, as you say. Scientific theories are never proven, they are simply either supported or contradicted by the evidence that has been gathered. And it turns out that evolution is a marvelous theory that has been supported by every scientific test that has been performed on it. Consider this: gravity is a THEORY... It is at the same status in science as the idea of evolution is. It has never been "proven" either. But I'm willing to bet you accept the idea of gravity. When you jump in the air, do you fall back down? Do you BELIEVE IN GRAVITY?

I watched about 15 minutes of the video that you posted before getting frustrated and turning it off. Now don't get me wrong... I am a very open minded guy! I wanted to hear what this guy had to say, and I waited patiently for this "scientific evidence" of creationism, but I saw nothing but preaching. I was excited to hear his evidence and test my scientific accumen by trying to refute him, but there was nothing to refute! If you really want to me to refute something, you're going to have to give me something specific instead of making me watch a two hour long video.

Please don't misunderstand. I have the greatest respect for you and your beliefs, and I love having discussions with people about all kinds of things. But I'm afraid that you've been taken in hook, line and sinker by an evangelist who puts on a good show, but has no substance. He doesn't understand the theories that he's attacking, and even in the completely science-less 15 minutes that I saw, he makes all kinds of leaps and assumptions that aren't true. I'm happy to explain what evolution is about, and listen to your side, and discuss the merits of each of these ideas. But you have to give me somewhere to start besides a sermon that doesn't seem to have anything to do with either evolution or creation.

Miss L,

Calling me "ill-informed" simply because I watched only 15 minutes of the religious propoganda that you found on the internet seems like a rather childish and cheap blow. I have been studying geology in school for about 13 years, and have a B.S. in geology. That's years of experience of not just having evolution "crammed down my throat", as you put it, but actually LEARNING all of the details of the theory and the scores of evidence that support it. I also did a research paper on creation in my undergrad, and have read entire books on the subject WRITTEN BY CREATIONISTS. I am very well educated on what both sides of this debate are saying. So it would benefit you to know a little something about people's background before you start accusing them of being "ill-informed" based on how much of ONE VIDEO they happened to watch.

I was polite to you and told you that I'm happy to talk about this with you, and instead you insulted me and tried to compare your "18 years" of "having evolution crammed down your throat", which I'm assuming means standard public schooling, to my years of experience studying both topics in detail at the college level.

Even so, I would still be happy to discuss this with you if you want to. I do not have time to watch a two hour video just for the sake of composing a complete rebuttal on "Yahoo Answers". However, if you can tell me something specific that was in this video that we can discuss then that would be fine. You can pick any point that you thought was particularly convincing. Alternatively, if you tell me at what point in the video the scientific content begins, I can go back and watch that segment and give you my thoughts on what was said.

I don't need to watch a clip of religious propaganda to state my opinion on CREATIONISM. If you call CREATIONISM a religious dogma then I am fine with it. I ask you to abandon all Science (including the Internet) since it counter to your simple-minded beliefs. If you call CREATIONISM a THEORY then I ridicule you as a simple-minded fool who understands nothing about the Scientific Method. Either way I call you simple-minded, but I can accept you one of those ways.

Evolution is proven science. Creationism is bulls--- and the sooner it is relegated to the garbage can of history, the better off the human race will be.

Creationism is a theory which demands a lot more unwarranted asumption than evolution.

A lot could be said for the weak, flimsiness of FAITH. And be careful how you choose to define the word "FACT".
