Excuse me, what do you have against brown eyes? Brown eyes are beautiful; and the darkest of brown eyes can hold all the beauty of newly cooled obsidian (a black, glassy volcanic stone, if you don't know). If it bothers you so much that your children won't have green eyes, then you should just date only green-eyed people, since that's clearly more important to you than anything else.

i have been doing this sort of thing in biology recently so i know all about it.
you can do a chart that has bB and bg
the b stands for blue, the B stands for brown and the g stands for green.
you use capitals for the dominant alleles and lower case for the recessive.
so if there is for instance a brown eyed mum who is bB, and the dad is green eyed bg there is a 50% chance the child would have brown (bB or gB) eyes, 25% chance the child would have blue eyes (bb) and a 25% chance it would be either blue or green, you cannot tell which as both are recessive.

No, because eye is compromised of more than one gene, so it is not as simple as a dominant gene trumping a recessive one. Two brown-eyed people can actually have a blue eyed child. So you would have to know the exact genotype of both parents to know what the odds of having a child with a certain eye color would be.

The chance of having brown would be about 75% & green 25%. Green is recessive to brown as is blue. If you are asking the child having 2 different color eyes I don't know the odds but its really rare.

I'm not sure about the percentages of chances (you could look it up online in a chart I'm sure...remember the different colored pea plants that we learned about in high school biology?) but there is always a chance of having really any colored eyes or hair if someone at some point down the line had them...my great great grandfather had red hair and my new baby cousin is the first in 3 generations to be born with a poof of red. Both of my parents and all of my grandparents had blue or gray eyes and I have dark brown. Anything is possible :)

o yay genetics my favourite chapter in biology no one understands it!!
Brown is a more dominate color when it comes to genes so the chances of a child having the green eyes are lessened however there is still a possibility the child could get green eyes if a grandparent or someone along the line had green eyes and the gene just never was paired up ahh this is hard to explain but makes sense in my head!!

My sister has Hazel eyes. Her ex husband has Blue eyes and they had 3 children together. The oldest has bright blue eyes and blond hair. The middle child has red hair and hazel eyes, and the youngest has brown hair with brown eyes.. So no it doesnt matter the color of the parents eyes. I dont guess.. However my husband has blue eyes mine are hazel, and our daughters eyes are bright blue.. I guess because blue is the dominating color I dont know, but I am hoping our sons eyes are blue as well..

ok here is how it works
parent parent
green blue brown blue
child gets one gene from each parent
green and brown = brown eyes
blue and brown = brown eyes
green and blue = green eyes
blue and blue = blue eyes
each child has a 25% of having green eyes and/or blue eyes. But you could have a family of all green eyes or all blue eyes or all brown because each time is a 25% chance of getting that gene.
