Smack them both in the forehead and let them change ALL the diapers for the next 12 hours. Just keep an eye on him - if he's got any wheezing or swelling in his face or mouth or has ANY problems breathing - call an ambulance to take you to the ER. (Don't sit up with him all night - if any of that's going to happen, it will within 3 hours of eating the ice cream) If he gets a rash, call the doctor to ask what to do about possibly giving some Benadryl or something.
Chances are, he's only going to get a nice bout of stinky diarrhea, if anything at all, but if he has any of the above symptoms, worry about an allergic reaction to something in the ice cream.

My husband was constantly doing this too! His grandmother was probably even worse, but thankfully we werent around her very often. It was usually something like jam or whipped cream they were trying to spoon feed her, before she even started other solids! I was always furious about it, but my rantings didn't stop them. Thankfully the tongue pushes most out in the early months... but why do some want to experiment on their child???
Print off the answer from the pediatrics nurse and show your husband so he understands the seriousness of all this!

I hate it when people do that, my in-laws are always sneaking food to my babies before they are really ready for it.
In my experience, nothing bad has ever happened when people fed my kids things they were not supposed to have. (Besides me getting really annoyed anyway.) But to be on the safe side watch for an allergic reaction or an upset tummy.
Then, explain to your husband, or better yet have the pediatrician do it, why two month old babies only are supposed to eat formula or breastmilk.

Introducing foods too early does increase the chance of the child developing allergies to those foods. Dairy is a hard allergy to deal with, so you want to be careful.
Chances are that your child will be fine. Don't worry about it this time around, since it already happened, but make sure you explain how potentially dangerous it can be, so that it doesn't continue to happen.

No worries. I wouldn't do it all the time but once my daughter was about 5 months, I gave her small bites of ice cream all the time. (A couple of bites 2-3 times a week).

No, he'll be fine. At that age, my son was given pizza sauce. He got to lick it off the finger of the woman holding him.
Well, actually, pizza is about his favorite food till now--age 25.

It won't have hurt him.
Tell them to wait a few more months before giving him any more though...

its not gonna hurt him, but don't make a habit of it!! A little bit of adult food is harmless, but he may have an allergy you don't know about.
