You like the "subservient or helpless female" angle? Other than that the two series you list are pretty different -- DearS is mostly comedy, Chobits is more serious.
Girls Bravo is similar, and Hand Maid May is also along those lines.
If you don't mind the female being a little more competent, consider Ai Yori Aoshi (mostly a sweet love story), or Mahoromatic: Automatic Maiden (more robots).
If you just like the "guy surrounded by many girls" part, commonly called "harem anime," you should consider Love Hina and Tenchi Muyo, both classics of that genre. Or check out Hanaukyo Maid Team, the most extreme example I've seen.

Chobits is a very good anime, but the best place to find ANY anime is on ebay, you can get it super cheap and whole seasons.
