ugh HELP ME!! knee problems?

so i might have damaged cartillege in my knee, and it might be pretty bad. i got my MRI and they think it might be damaged cartillege, although i dont find out for sure until tomorrow. if it is, its bad. the doctors said that most people dont have bruising as bad as me. the bruise is very very big, about the size of like.. idk a bagel er something. but my knee is also very swollen, and if im up too much my foot gets swollen as well. i am in a big bulky knee immobilizer brace temporarily, and i am on crutches. if it is cartillege, what will they do? surgery? i also heard that if you either have a fracture in your thigh, a fracture in your knee, a dislocation in your knee, or surgery on your knee, you might have to go into a certin cast called a long leg cast. any ideas of whats going on? pictures?

my cartilage looked like raw hamburger but they didn't see it on the mri. they only found it after they put the scope in my knee. did you fall?is that how you got the bruise? bad cartilage doesn't cause ouside briusing but will cause tremendous swelling. mine was like yours. it made my entire leg swell to twice it's size.in my case, it was only arthroscopic surgery which is most likely what they do with you. pretty simple actually.only three little holes. then they scraped the cartilage. i was in a brace for a couple weeks and had therapy. not pleasant but not awful. my knee is better than ever now. relax. you'll be fine. send an update.

you should start wearing a knee brace they really work and check with you doc..you may have a pinched nerve
