Can I file for a divorce while I am living in Germany and my spouse is living in the states? Will i have to come back to the states to go to court? or is there a waiver for military personnel to not be required to return?

Yes, you can get divorced while overseas, but it is just a disolution of marriage and doesn't negate any of the property issues or child support. But here's a link to a website - these were set up for people in your situation. Good luck and thanks for serving!

Yes, you can file. I don't know the specifics, but a friend of mine's husband did that - filed for divorce while being stationed overseas (forgot which country).

Have someone in your family hire a lawyer and he
can petition the divorce for you. He can even re-
present you in court if the divorce is not contested.
