Britain is a combination of the 5 country's within the United Kingdom, and surrounding isles, a Scottish accent sounds a lot different from an English accent.
And I am proud to say that I am a London geezer through and through, and would never fake my legitimate English voice.

I've never faked an accent, but I've thought about answering the phone talking in spanish if it was a private number.

I work as a business to business telemarketer, and sometimes when I get bored, I use different accents on the phone. I've tried british, irish, and african-american. I even tried to sound like a gay guy when calling a salon one time. hehe.

My daughters and I do this for fun sometimes when we go out to eat...if we are in a booth, and there is someone on the other side, we make up all kinds of accents.

I actually do, and if I may say so myself I believe I am quite good. I actually did that for an entire vacation when I went out of town and had people asking me ALL THE TIME where I was from.
