my cousin's neighbor my really good friend and parents dont trust him. my aunt said "I cant STAND that boy! i told (my cuz name) not to bring him over!" but i want to bond with him and make him be more of a friend. He's really nice and funny and acts so much like me! im begining to like him and he said hes going to break up with his girlfriend soon. i dont think that my parents trust him but they cant stop me from being his friend! my mom only wants me to have only friends who r girls but i have friends who r boys. She cant stop me and im going to be his friend no matter what! i text and call him everyday because we r such good friends. this august we r both going to the same junior high and we r going to see each other there too.

Hey crazy! I hear a lot of anguish in your words there. Is there any way to set it up to where your parents can meet this fellow and get to know him better? OR is there something more that you haven't told us as the reason? I guess I'm asking if this lad is really trust worthy or you just want to be his friend so much that you are overlooking what may become a problem for you?

I know boys and I know girls! It is great to have friends of both sexes. What do your girls say about this guy? Do they like and trust him? If you can't be open and honest with your parents, it is going to cause you a lot of heartache later on. I know I sound preachy, sorry, but it's true. Your parents only want what is best for you. They are not intentionally trying to down your vibe. Your age is a very hard one and will be for a few more years! I know you want to choose your own friends and you have the right to like who you like, it's just that as parents we have been there and done that. We are not stupid morons. We were young and had the same problems that you do. Please trust me. If we can help further, here we are! Nana

If he is a breaking up with a girl already make sure you aren't his next girl friend. To be a true friend is good but it is too young for either of you to be bonded in any way. Talk to him by all means but talk to all the people in your new school and make as many friends as you can including him.
Always consider your parents advice they are much older and have been where you are. The only way they can stop you is to lock you up or have your respect so you don't do what they tell you is wrong.
Your parents probably don't trust him because he is a boy and you are at the age where girls go boy crazy.

Who cares if they trust him, you're proving they obviously can't trust YOU. Grow up little girl, your parents protect you for a reason.

I don't know how old you are, but if your parents are willing to give him a chance, have them meet him. Have a summer party or something.

i think that your plan to wait for your husband is great!!

talk to your mom about how nice he is and what you talk about on the phone. she should see how great a friend he is and let you be friends with him.

tel them what you told us. and ask them what they find wrong in him. and then tell them they are wrong if they give a false reason.

Tell them your true reasons, why YOU trust him. Then tell em what you want to do with him, and whatnot.

STAY CALM! No shouting please!~
