I hope that this makes sense.

Let's say you have 79 compleated downloads and only 9 comments. What is the ratio and how do you figure it out?

Thanks!

I am a little confused by the question.

I'll try to solve it how I understand it, and if I'm wrong please let me know.

If you want to find out the amount of comments to the amount of downloads (how many comments for every download, etc) it's as follows:

9:79 (read "9 to 79") --->

This is the same as 9/79 ("9 over 79"...a fraction)

Then you can divide 9 by 79

9/79 = 0.113924 ~ 0.114

...So you have approximately 0.114 comments for every download.

(If you wanted to do the reverse, it would be 79/9 and you would have approximately 8.778 downloads for every comment)..

Does that help?

your ratio is 79 downloads : (to) 9 comments

divide 79/9 and 9/9 to get the downloads per comment ratio

so 8.77 downloads : 1 comment

The ratio of commented files to non-commented files would be
9:70

The fraction of commented files would be
9/79 = 0.1139
