You have a civil war patriotic token. During the Civil War all federal coinage was hoarded even the Indian Head cents. In order to have small change private companies made tokens. They came in two ways one being as above and the other as as what is called a store card, it was a token with an advertisement on it or a company name. You have one of the common ones and it sells for $10 in low grade up to $25 in high grade. A dealer would pay less. It is an interesting piece of history and I would just keep it. As time goes by and more collectors find out that 100's of varieties exist, the value can only go up. Collecting tokens and medals is catching on, some people are finding out that they are historic and fun to collect but also a challenge.
