Probably not, since Disney considers themselves a pretty "progressive" company.

I don't think they need fear a lawsuit, but there would definitely be some amount of outcry from certain activists. Bad publicity can be worse than a lawsuit.

I have heard rumors that there is a low-resolution (video-CD quality) bootleg copy on BitTorrent.

I think we have about as good a chance of seeing that as we do seeing Warner Brothers release "Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarfs".

It's a shame that animation fans and collectors (like me) have to pay the price because the PC police finds things offensive.

And as far as lawsuits go, I don't believe anyone could actually SUE Disney for releasing their own movie. I think there would be one huge protest...but how could you sue Disney? On what grounds? They have more money and more lawyers than anyone.

I go to Disneyland regularly, and depending on who you ask, they are either getting ready to release it, or they have no idea if it will ever be released.

In my opinion, if they can make a ride based on characters (Splash Mountain), then they can release the movie. Let the people decide if they want to watch it again.

Not if they don't want to be slapped with one helluva lawsuit.
Someone would do it.

Some of the cartoons from the older generations hold their certain...prejudices.
