I like fantasy more than anything, but I am open to good books. I don't like things that are scary or sad.
What would you recommend for me to read next...?

Sara Douglass - BattleAxe. Is the first book of one of the best Fantasy reads I've come accross.
For a great Action read - Matthew Reilly - Ice Station.
Anne Bishop - anything by this woman is very cool.
Laurelll K Hamilton - The Anita Blake Vampire Series. They're sexy, scarey & oh so much fun!

Have you read "The Wheel of Time" series by Robert Jordan? That's probably the best selling fantasy series in the world behind "Lord of the Rings". If you like funny SF, try Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat stories. For best Fantasy single story (though it also comes as three separate books), try "The Deed of Paksenarrion" by Elizabeth Moon. She is a formenr marine officer, and her story of a young girl who becomes a mercenary is laced with real knowledge of what veterans like mercenaries think and act like. If you'd like the lighter side of vampires, try Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire stories - people die, but for vampires, it is pretty light.

I suggest dragonsinger, dragonsong, and dragondrums by Anne McAffrey. She writes other books but they are a hard to read.
I also think you should read The Naming by Alison Croggon
It is about magic and prophecies and is really good.

Anything by Piers Anthony. His "Immortality" series is a good one for older teens and adults.

This is a good book even if it isn't like a purely adult book: Ella Enchanted.
