This lady has been married for 4 years to a guy that I sometimes think may be a sex addict. They don't seem to display much affection for each other and I think the marriage is a convenient one ...probably for money . She makes a pretty good living.

He says things around her about other women's bodies being attractive, points out butts on television he thinks are hot, things like that. Single women around them wonder why she says these things about accepting his philandering... now we are wondering if she is trying to send us some sort of message, like if he thinks we are hot and has mentioned it to her or something.

What do you think about this guy, this woman, and this marriage?

Oh, and I am not "concerned about their relationship" so much as I am the comments she has made to me and other single women, and what I have heard him say around her ABOUT other single women - of which I am one. That is why I am writing. I don't care if they are swingers or whatever. That's between them. But when folks start talking to ME about their lives and putting me in it, then it becomes my business.

Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't be better off accepting that all men may cheat. This would alleviate having to worry about whether or not he has or whether or not he will. " It's just a fact; he'll do it. No suspense." But I suppose we all hope that in the end, they won't cheat.

About the marriage being of convenience, I don't find that alarming or disturbing AS LONG AS both parties are in agreement.

As for the open comments about other women, I think he should keep them to himself. I don't like men who constantly make comments about other women. I think it's tacky. Some things are better left unsaid.

My man and I make comments about hot women and joke in some sorts but never, and I mean never would I let any woman think that it would be ok to sleep with man. She is probably just acting as though it doesn't bother her because she doesn't know how to draw the line on her own behavior. EX. My man can say that a woman looks hot but then to ask about her, does anyone know her or something like that that would be going to far and I am not affraid to let him know that. This woman may not want to draw any lines in order not to offend her husband and be called jealous.

All she has done is to tell you that she accepts the fact that her husband may "stray". However his noticing other women's body doesn't equal cheating. I always noticed other men's bodies when I was married yet I never cheated. There is nothing wrong with looking and appreciating someone attractive. Being married doesn't mean being blind or dead.

She just insecure in her own life. She allows him to do those things just to say she is married. Their marriage is going no where and more than likely he is cheating on her. For her it hurts but she accepts it having low self-esteem. You might need to ask her to go to counseling to see the light. Go with her she might be reaching out for help.

Why are you so concered about their relationship?

I would not jump to the conclusion that he thinks you or your other friends are "hot", maybe she thinks you guys are an easy target.

Or quite possibly she just thought that you and whoever else she mentioned it to were her real friends, whom she could confide in confidence to.

I think, to each their own. If she doesn't have a problem with her husband's behavior - then why would YOU? What seems like a big deal to you, might not be a big deal to her. People are all different.

I think that one of two things either it is a marrage with a purpose like money or stature...Or this woman has no respect for herself and no guts...And he is a piece of crap for taking advatange of that...Personally I wouldn't want anything to do with people like that....

There definitely is a lack of respect on the husbands part. His wife should stand up and tell him that his behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. What an *ss!

I think this guy is a sick sexist pig and as her friend you should encourage her to find someone who will respect her. Love and respet will make you much happier than money anyway. :)
