If I have given my brother's address in the UK to the bank as my own and then defaulted on a loan, if the bailiffs come round can they take my brother's belongings? Even if I have never lived there?

But you see, I don't live in England, I've lived abroad for years and they knew that, they just said they needed a UK address, so I don't think they can claim fraud. I don't have a single belonging in his house, I've never even been there, can they still take his things?

Giving a false address IS fraud. Even if someone at the bank was complicit in the fraud, YOU are still guilty.

Why yes, they can! And then when your brother protests (they won't believe him at first), they will charge you with bank fraud, which is WAY more serious than not paying your loan.

I think you should go see a solicitor, otherwise rent might cease to be an issue for a couple of years!
