When the clothes fit them properly. If a 00 drapes off of them and they are cutting the ends of jeans off its time to go back to Limited too or whatever children's store they came from. :D

I don't know about Abercrombie, but I think AE is pretty close to Gap, and that should be okay. You need to be 30 before you can shop at forever21.

Remind her that she's 11, not 20. She still needs to look like a cute kid, not sexy just yet. The clothing sales people would make you think you need tight jeans, short shorts, and shirts that show skin both up and down.

My rule for my daughter (a few years older) was 4" center inseam for shorts, can't see separate buns for jeans, and in case of bendover, no part of butt or back should show. And no spaghetti straps or strapless except for formal wear.

Don't grow up too soon. We moms like to enjoy you before you have lives of your own.

Promise her that if she'll be conservative for now, that before her first high school dance you'll take her to Macy's' or Nordstrom and try on as many prom dresses as she likes. And take pictures with your phones, too!

If the clothes fit. I know they have shops like Abercrombie for younger kid but my sister is very tall and she had to start shopping at AF. I know alot of ppl think that the clothes at such stores are provocative but not nearly as much as people make them out to be. My sister has managed.

High school, I mean those clothes are designed for girls who are trying to garner attention. I can't stand seeing 11 and 12 year ODs walking around in super-low-rise jeans, belly shirts, etc... I mean I'm an A&F shopper, but I'm also 23, the fashions there are mainly focusing on young adult and college age. Especially the women's clothes, the men's clothes not so much.

So yeah I completely agree with you that 11 is too young.

12 or 13 at the very least, but it really depends on what type of clothing they are wearing. They could be a tshirt that says abercrombie at 10 and look fine, but they will look odd in a revealing top from there.

ok well at my school there were 3rd graders weraring hollister and abercrombie. i personally think that 3rd grade is too young....but it all comes down to if you fit in it..i am 13 and i am and XS and a S. and the tank tops at abercrombie and fitch go down fairly low and ym mom has a problem with them.. but 11 years old...welll i dont know about forever21. i mean i dont even shop there but if the clothes fit and they arent baggy or go to low or the pants are too short...pretty much it all depends on if she fits into them.
