Palais Royal department stores have changed hands several times and the company that bought them currently operates stores under several names including 3 Beall's stores in the Austin area (check yellow pages or home page for Palais Royal under store locator). There are 100's of great places to shop in Austin. One of my favorites has always been Ross where you can find absolutely anything. Some of their merchandise is "Walmart quality" and some is high end department store quality but always the prices are inexpensive and it is a fun place to shop. Also, check sales going on at all the mall stores right now - ought to be lots of bargains and beautiful things.

Royal Palais stores have left the city. I shop at Kohl's always find great buys also try Stein Mart Both have great clothes Cheap! Happy shopping

I haven't heard of one of those in years. So I'm guessing that there is not one in Austin....unless they just don't advertise anymore.
