The repair is at least $2000 and the value of a good 98 Lumina LTZ is $1800-$3000 (trade in vs. private sell). What is the best thing to do with it?

Donate it to a charity; at least that way, you will have a partial income tax write-off next year. Most charitable organizations that accept vehicles don't care whether they're running or not. Just be sure you tell them it's not driveable and remove the plates, inspection sticker and registration decal from the windshield. Then, when they come to tow it away, sign the title over to them and it's gone.. Good luck!

Either part it out, or sell it to a scrap company. Finally, you can donate it and take it off your taxes.
