well bascially it's been a bout a year now and this might souund dumb but before i used to fall asleep i used to think of everything i wanted for the future and there was one particular thing i did want however i thought it would be impossible for me to get. it's one of those things that could happen by chance but seemed very unlikely however the thing i wanted has appeared in my life about 2 weeks back even though i used to dream about having it in the future now is this coincidence or is it a sign or something because it'ssomething i didn't think would become true because it can only happen by pure chance i would say what it is but it's personal and i really just need opinions from other people thankyouxx

Aloha Freefaller,

Well, you might not like my answer, as I'm not a big believer in fate, coincidence or destiny, but here you go...

A tendency to drastically underestimate the frequency of coincidence is a prime characteristic of innumerates, who generally accord great significance to correspondences of all sorts while attributing too little significance to quite conclusive but less flashy statistical evidence.
— John Allen Paulos, mathematics professor, n "Innumeracy: Mathematical Illiteracy and its Consequences"

All superstition is much the same whether it be that of astrology, dreams, omen, retributive judgment, or the like, in all of which the deluded believers observe events which are fulfilled, but neglect and pass over their failure, though it be much more common.
— Francis Bacon, Novum Organum

Now, it is possible that by your focusing on your goals each night before you went to sleep, you helped make them a reality. You focused your attention and thoughts towards achieving your goals. So even though the outcome might appear completely random and out of your control, your concentrating your thoughts and dreams towards a specific goal, might have played a part in it materializing.

E.g. If I am thinking of becoming a teacher and think about it every night, I might start "seeing" more teaching opportunities solely because my brain is now focused in that direction.

Thinking about what you want is the same as wishing. Our minds want us to get what we want. Whether it makes us happy or sad is irrelevant. If we think about what we don't want it will try to make that happen too. What you have done is put your subconscious to work, in a positive way, the same way that people learn to do through years of meditative study. Good job, congratulations.

well there is a saying "be careful what you wish for" things can happen when you want it so much. I remember wanting to see something and it actually happen I was quite frighten by it and can't real sleep. Mine has been going on for 4 years. Who knows maybe it is a sign. ^_^
