Many of us want the truth! But......Have you written to your Congressman? Write to them and tell them that you are a citizen and you want the truth! Tell them that if people are subpoenaed by Congress they should be REQUIRED to appear, under oath, with a transcript or face criminal prosecution. Tell them that when someone testifies to Congress and lies, they must be prosecuted (Roberto Gonzalez!)
Tell them that if they are convicted of lying and later pardoned, to recall them, under oath and ask the same questions they lied about before. This time give them immunity so they cannot claim the 5th amendment, If the lie again prosecute again, and again.
No one should be above the law!!!!
The truth and nothing but the truth! That is WHY you are under oath!!!
Write your Congressman/woman and tell him/her we are tire of the lies and we want the liars put in jail! And remind them we remember their actions with our votes!
If we do that, they will know we are tired of our Representative not representing us because they feel politicians are above the law.

The truth is that different administrations come to the oval office with different skill sets and experience. This time around, we got a lemon. There's no getting around that. A man whose only political experience was a 4 year run as the governor of Texas which his father procured for him in the first place, is just not enough experience to be the President of the United States. Throw into the mix a guy like Dick Cheney and Karl Rove and you've got a serious group of crooked politicians and lobbyists who had nothing in mind but to bleed our nation of every dime they can get, and label it under Homeland Security and the threat of terrorism. It's the hand that we, as Americans, were dealt this time around. Thank God we only have a few more months left...

Yes, the 30 or so percent of Americans that are not heavily on drugs or just plain stupid seem to be the ones who have good jobs, vote, and live a pretty good life. This being the case, why would any of these folks even care if our government lies to us every single day? Do you think they are willing to give up even a little of what they have accumulated to do the right thing? Doubt it. Yes it is a joke and barring a good old fashioned revolution, nothing is going to change.

Our government is much greater than the few who are in the news.So start with knowing there are a lot of honest patriots in the government. From there notice the adversarial nature of our system, then see low turnout as a result of others being sick like you.Just know that it is not what you see.Or what you hear. And lies are usually used by anyone wanting to avoid responsibility for their actions.Be cautious believing the media terrorist,They are only in it for the money. And if you can travel afar, you will return gratefull for our freedoms.

You are seeing the very nasty side of partisan politics at work. I can't tell you when it started to turn bad, but it came to full flower under the Clintons. They were very effective at putting their opponents in a bad light and that created a whole new kind of news coverage and gotcha politics.
Once that box was opened, all the crap in the world tumbled out. There are so few ethical politicans right now that I am concerned about our future.
We have supported and encouraged Democrat against Republican to the detriment of our future.

Oh, it exists. The problem is, too many people are trying to obscure it for their own purposes. To me, the truth is in the middle. I like to read what BOTH sides of the aisle have to say about a topic, and by comparing the two, decide what's the truth. Also? I like to get information from experts--science information from scientists, for example, or information on a particular movement from members of that movement as well as opponents of it.

The "truth" is somewhat relative to each person's opinions and view of the world.
When people have an undying faith in government as an institution, and expect "truth" from politicians who view citizens as a continual source of tax funds, they will always be disappointed.

that does seem to be the case, If the official story is told it is all spin and less 2% fact. but they want money from us, to protect us from the people they have made hate us. Illusion and slight of hand is now days Government.
No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

Of all the enemies of public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded, because it comprises and develops the germ of every other.

i learned this when Goldwater ran. he stated the steps he would have to take to end the war. people didn't want to hear it so accepted LBJ's lies and pats on the hiney.
six months after being elected, LBJ was basically following all the steps Goldwater had said were needed.
there is no truth in politics, whatever side ur on. it is an oxymoron

At this point, I would welcome anything that vaguely resembles the truth.
Not all politicians are liars, it just seems that way sometimes.
Edit: I agree with united9198 with the exception that it was the "Republican Revolution" in 1994 that helped bring political divisiveness to where it is today.
