I have so many deep scratches on the sides of my car. I've been planning to get some rubbing compound and experiment it with a buffer to try to remove the scratches, but i'm afraid i'm going to mess everything up. So is it possible that a an Auto Car shop will be able to do all of this for me ? If so, how much would it generally cost including the service fee ?

cleaning up scratches depends on how deep they are. If they go as deep as the primer, buffing will only make it worse. In that case, think of sanding and repainting the body.

Do not use a buffer with rubbing compound unless you have some experience. You can destroy the paint job.

Take it to a body shop and get a free estimate for the repair.
In fact, take it to at least 3 differenct shops and get the best bid on the work.

Take it to a local Body Shop and they'll tell you for free what it'll cost for repairs.
