Hoses are rarely to blame for brake fluid leaks. A more common culprit (esp. on a Taurus) is the brake cylinder (not the master cylinder). This is a job for an experianced do-it-yourselfer with the proper tools, though. If I were you, I would take it to a shop (not a dealer!) such as Car-X or Goodyear.

Do not take it to the dealer. Take it to Pepboys, Meineke, or a trusted corner shop. Have them look at the hoses. Best case scenario is that a hose or brake line needs to be tightened up. Worst case scenario is that your master cylinder is leaking or broken.....or your brake lines (they run under the car's frame) are cracked. Brake systems and auto transmissions are not prone to failure on any particular car, even if it has well over 150k miles. Also, DO NOT TOUCH OR EXPOSE YOUR SKIN TO BRAKE FLUID.

One of the brake lines has a leak. They're not expensive, just take it to a shop. They'll replace it and give you new brake fluid. You don't want to leave it because it will get worse and eventually you'll run out of fluid and your brakes won't work very well.

Take it to a repair shop and get it fixed. You do not want to get air into the system, and have the car not stop. If it is a hose then it is no big deal. If it's something else, then it would be a wheel cylinder or the master cylinder. good luck.

Take it to a qualified auto repair shop for an estimate. remember...if it runs out of fluid you will not have any brakes...one half of the system will work but not the other.
