Okay you should run Mame pluss http://www5.emu-zone.org/host/mameplus/
It is easy to use after you download it.
Click this link and down load to your desktop:
http://www5.emu-zone.org/host/mameplus/download/mameplus_src-0.117u1-20070720.7z.zip
Un zip this folder into your Mame folder it will wright over the files it is changing and meld others together. After it is thru then make sure your ROMs are in zipped form in the folder named roms in the mame folder. Now in the main mame folder you should have a folder named mamepgui its a application file. Dubble click this and Mame32 will start up, it will do an audit of your roms and then you should press Ctrl+f to open up the "Filter for all games folder" Check the boxes non-working and Unavailabe. by doo this it will only show game roms you have that are playable.

NOTE:::::::::NOTE:::::::::::::...
Some games require multible Roms to work, others require CHD files the hardest to come by and Some, Bios files (I rec get all theses right off the bat from here: http://www.efmovie.com/mame.htm )...... The place I'd send you to find Roms are in order for ease of acess and speed of downloading and no BUGS or nasty stuff are:::::

Also:

Remember this:
Some game require a version of that rom (like if it was GAME104.06 you may have to have GAME103.06 to run it) They add to one another you have to have the basic block to build on.
Some Games need BIOS roms easiest thing to do is down load them all.
Some Games require CHD filed the hardest thing to find and aquire.

Yes, their website tells you everything you need to know, however I'll summarize.

To get it you download MAME from their website-under the download section: http://www.mame.net/

To get the ROMs or actual games, you just download them from various websites of your choosing, google works well. After you download the file(s) you just put it into the MAME directory they will come with a help file in case you don't understand cut + paste.

Don't ask me how to use it or where to get Rom's, because I don't know.
